Once again, ONE80TC were given the privelege of going along to the 2016 Conviction Forum addressing 300 young men currently in year 10 of high school.
The forum provides ONE80TC the opportunity to intervene, and prevent a life of addiction, rather than treat substance abuse years on.
Mark Hill talked about gateway drugs, providing insights and some home truths about how easy it is to slip into a life of addiction - starting from mid teens.
Marco and Chris are doing great work with Year 10 men throughout Sydney's high schools and forums such as this can be truly life changing.
Check out the highlights of the event below.
Post the event, the Conviction Group conducted surveys with both the students and teachers.
The students were overwhelmingly positive, with over 99% confirming they enjoyed it, and 97% stating they would recommend other students to attend. A number of other questions were canvassed including whether the forum changed their perspective on the issues discussed.
The feedback was equally positive from the teachers involved:
"The forum is a very powerful tool that effectively meets a very serious need in our young men" GR, Year 10 Advisor, Kellyville
"The young men's health forum is a fantastic initiative that empowers young men to openly discuss issues facing them and help make educated decisions within their school setting, but more importantly through their life" RW, Year 10 Teacher, Castle Hill
Obviously the results speak for themselves, the forum is having a great success and ONE80TC look forward to the opportunity to continue impacting the lives of young men throughout Sydney's high schools.
