As the CEO of ONE80TC, I am passionate about our cause. Our Vision to succeed at Rescuing Lives, Restoring HOPE and Rebuilding Families is right at the core of what we do within each of our programs.
Ride for HOPE originated in 2001 (well before my time) as the "Tour de Freedom", Phil Latz, Founder and former CEO of Bycyling Australia, first envisioned the ride to help raise funds for the Teen Challenge Program, nationally.
The "Tour de Freedom" took place all around Australia, taking in The Great Ocean Road - VIC, Coffs Harbour to Mooloolaba - QLD, Davenport to Hobart - TAS and Esperance to Perth - WA.
In our pusuit to put on the best event to suit all parties, in 2009 the evnt was renamed Sydney to Hunter Cycling Classic. In 2020 to celebrate our 20th Annual Ride the event was rebranded "Ride for HOPE" (Hold On Pain Ends), capturing the spirit of our riders and why they ride. It also captures the very real 'Journey of HOPE' each of the men and women in our programs face each day, Hold On Pain Ends!"
The course covers a maximum of 180km's from Sydney to the Central Coast and represents the 180 degree turnaround in the lives of those who are in our program.
I am extremely proud of all the individuals that have come through our programs over the years I have been the CEO and will continue to champion this cause to Rescue Lives, Restore Hope and Rebuild Families across Australia.
Thank you for your generous support of ONE80TC, it is so appreciated.
